I’m so excited to finally share this DIY basement bathroom remodel with you! If you remember, this area started out completely unfinished — just framing and concrete. When we began finishing this basement space, we split this section in two to make room for the butler’s pantry (which you can read about here) and now this bathroom. Watching both spaces come to life from a blank slate has been such a fun transformation and with my own two hands is insane to me.
This is what the space looked like before we split it.
Here she is! This bathroom turned into such a special little space. Since we don’t get much natural light down here, I decided to lean into deeper tones instead of trying to brighten everything up.

The patterned ceiling wallpaper is easily the star — it brings in so much warmth and immediately makes the room feel more collected.

The vertical shower tile gives the room a modern touch, and the color plays really nicely with the brown paneling. I love that the whole space feels layered without being overwhelming.
The toilet is one of the most unexpected upgrades. It’s sleek, modern, and luxurious — definitely a fun addition.

The vanity, sink, and mirror work together so well — simple lines, warm wood, and clean finishes that help balance some of the bolder choices. They help ground the room and keep it feeling timeless.

A few thoughtful pieces — the light fixture, brass details, and framed art — tie everything together without cluttering the space. I still can’t believe I MADE THIS SPACE.

Looking back at where it began makes me love the end result even more. I’m thrilled with how this DIY bathroom remodel turned out and how it helps complete the basement in the best way.

This turned out lovely! I had a chocolate brown bathroom and I miss it. It felt so cozy! Your wallpapered ceiling is a star and I love that as an unexpected touch!
Thank you, Tiffany! It was a labor of love but I love how it turned out.
