My laundry room has been updated a couple of times since moving into our home in 2011, and while it is small, it works hard. These are the 5 updates we made to our small laundry room that make sense.
Here is what my laundry room looked like when we first moved in.

Here are 4 updates we’ve made to our space that helps the small space function at best.
Stacked Machines:

Stacking our laundry machines were an absolute game changer. It instantly opened the space and gave room for more storage. The machines are full size machines, and we wash our King comforter in there. So we did not have to compromise machine space for this.
Removing the door off Linen Closet:

Our linen closet is inside the laundry room as soon as you walk in. With that being the case, opening the laundry room door, then opening the linen closet door was a pain and sucked up space. I opted to finish out the linen closet with plywood shelves and remove the door.
Retractable Clothes Line

A retractable clothes line saves space and helps a small laundry function at maximum capacity. By it being retractable, its out of the way and hidden.
Magnetic Lint Bin

A magnetic lint bin is another way to keep a small laundry room functional, while saving space. it mounts on the side of the machine, so it does not use any countertop space.
Scent Bead Dispenser

All of these items have helped the functionality in my space so much! I still hate doing my laundry, but having a pretty and functional space to do it in helps! These 5 updates have helped the flow of our laundry room and make so much sense.
You can see all of these things in action on Instagram.
Until next time!
