New Year New Room Refresh: DIY Marble Countertop Part 2

We are so close to wrapping up this basement project and I for one WILL BE HAPPY WHEN ITS DONE! The little details are always the hardest and most time consuming. Anywho, over the last week, I’ve made quite a dent in the basement area and wanted to share. First and foremost, the countertop is done! Epoxy, whew, what can I say about it. It is a very interesting medium to work with. Again, I will be creating a full DIY tutorial on how to create a marble countertop using epoxy. For the purpose of todays post, I am sharing the overall updates over the last week. Once the countertops were done and cured, we added the hutches to the top. I am also in the thick of planning how to attach these shelves without any exposed brackets. I believe I’ve found a solution for that as well. The shelves still need to be stained a nice walnut brown that will complement the ceiling. I’ve also been playing around with styling the inside of the cabinets,. That’s always the fun part! Next up is adding the crown to the top of the cabinets to take the top to the ceiling.   That’s the progress this week. You can see the evolution of the space with week one, week two and week three.
