Can you believe that we are chatting holiday decor already?! I mean, really…time is truly flying. Decorating for the holidays is something that I’ve grown to like more and more each year, but I love to keep it traditional with just a bit of glam.
This year I’ve partnered with the Home Depot, showing you how I am decorating my home for holidays using hanging tools that are sure to make removal easy and damage free.
My mantle is my absolute favorite place to add holiday decor. Since it’s in my family room, I love to make it feel festive. The last thing I want to do, when adding garland, is either chip the paint, or have it peel off when it’s time to have the garland removed.
This year, to hang the garland over my fireplace, I used a combination of the Command 1/2 lb Mini White Hooks on the top and the Command 1/2 lb Mini Clear Hooks. along the front of the mantle.
First, let’s talk about how beautiful this faux garland is! It’s a gorgeous realistic mix of cedar pine needles, berries and leaves. The gold accents are the perfect touch, without being overwhelming or gaudy. The flexibility within the garland allowed me to create a casual and less fussy appearance along the front of my mantle. Utilizing these products also made hanging my garland super easy, but I am also reassured that once I remove it, I won’t have a damaged surface. I placed several across the fireplace mantle and looped in the garland for a secure hold.
I also added four of these super cute 22 inch Chunky Knit Cream Christmas stocking across the front of the mantle. I absolutely love the chunky texture and dimension that they add. To hold them on the mantle, I used the 2 lb. Medium Clear Hook Value Pack.
I accented the fireplace with these classic jute ottomans, which are perfect to take a seat close to the fire.
My other most favorite way to decorate for the holidays is by adding garland to my staircase railing.
This has a huge impact, especially since the stairs are the first thing that you see when you walk into my home. This year, I not only added beautiful faux garland, but also added bright green hand made bows. The warm glow of the garland, since it is pre- lit and the vibrant bows makes my staircase pop. To attach bows to the garland, the Hillman Green floral wire is definitely the way to go!
I was able to easily attach each bow securely and don’t have to worry about them falling off with all of the movement going up and down the stairs.
To hang my Magnolia wreath in my front entry, I used the VELCRO® Brand HANGables® Removable Wall Micro Hooks in White.
What I love about these hooks is that they are super easy to apply, and the visibility is minimal behind the wreath. It’s so small, that you barely even know its there!
Lastly, around my window in my kitchen, I added more of the 9ft faux garland that I used on my steps, in a beautiful asymmetrical layout. This was my first time decorating around my kitchen window so it was fun to see it come together. Hanging garland around the window was a bit tricky, but using the Command 1/2 lb Mini White Hooks made the process much easier.
All of the beautiful decor and hanging items can be found by checking out your local Home Depot Store or shopping online.
Hopefully, this post puts you in the holiday spirit and now you are fully prepared to hang up the holidays with ease!
Thanks so much for stopping by. Until next time.
