You guys! My deck makeover with black stain DIY is done and I am in love. I haven’t touched this space, since 2015 when I made it over the first time. When I made it over, while it was okay, I definitely felt it was too formal for my style. I’ve always wanted something super casual and relaxed and I’ve accomplished just that. I am so in love.
So let’s take a look back at where this space started earlier in the Spring. It was rough. lol.
It had build up of leaves, grime, and dirt from several years of neglect. I first got rid of everything.
Then I started by pressure washing it.
After pressure washing it, I let it dry for the next couple of days. It was noticeably brighter.
Then using the Cabot stain in black, I stained my deck using a Purdy Roller Brush and Purdy Extender pole. This made the process go by really fast and easy.
Once stained, I added all of the beautiful furnishings. The sofa, rug, hanging planters, and lanterns are from Bed Bath & Beyond.
These planters are not planters. I drilled a hole at the bottom for drainage and hung them outside. I love what they add to the space.
I found this table from my local thrift store for $4.99. Yes y’all, $4.99!
So what do you think? I am in love with how this space has evolved and have already been giving soooo much usage! It’s my new favorite place to be.
Thanks much for stopping by! Until next time.
It looks great and such a nice space to relax in. Enjoy! 🙂
Thanks so much!
