Welp, we made it to the finish line! Today is the big day! It’s One Room Challenge powder room reveal day and I couldn’t be more excited. As we any space that I makeover in my home, I am always extremely nervous because I always wonder, did I do enough. Being that this is the infamous ORC and my very first ORC, I wanted to keep the space small, but take it up a notch as far as how it is designed. I am absolutely SMITTEN with how my space turned out. Make sure you stick around to the end because all of my sources are linked below!
I honestly couldn’t ask for a more welcoming, fresh and bright space to welcome guests into my home, even if it is just a bathroom, lol.
I know its always fun to look back and see just how far we’ve come so let’s take a look back at where my dated 90’s bathroom started, shall we?
Powder Room Before:
NOT CUTE! Just old, and dreary. I had given it a makeover almost 6 years ago, but since that time, I didn’t touch it. It was cute for the time being and I think I made it over for around $100 with accessories and paint.
Of course after all those years, I grew tired of the space in its condition and pretty much stripped it down.
Powder Room Plans:
You may remember that I shared my original plans for this space, but I ended up changing the original mirror. I opted to reduce all of the gold on gold and loved breaking it all up with a beautiful round wood mirror. Everything else pretty much stayed the same.
Powder Room Reveal:
I simply cannot believe I did this space myself. My husband helped of course with things such installing the counter and toilet and he was the MVP in installing the crown molding because mitre cuts and my brain don’t mix. But everything else, ya girl DID IT HERSELF! Woot Woot!
I absolutely love this beautiful shade of blue for the vanity. The paint color is Hale Navy color matched to Behr paints. It was so much cheaper for me to keep the original vanity and paint it. I opted to replace the sink instead. I would urge you to do the same if you are looking to save money. This is sink is everything!
Some of my favorite small details are the faucet and toilet paper holder. I also added a basket full of the Kleenex individual powder towels instead of a roll of paper towels. I opt not to use a hand towel for the guest room for sanitary reasons.
I also love the soap dispenser. The texture it adds is perfect for the space.
We also swapped out the toilet and let me tell you, the toilet is a game changer! I love the fancy moulding around the bottom and it has a soft close feature. Hello BOY MOM!
The rug is also a fave of mine. Its a braided Jute and Leather rug. So beautiful.
I went back and forth about the art for this space and I knew I wanted something simple that did not over power the wallpaper or space itself. I absolutely love this simple piece of art that I had a couple of years from my local Goodwill. I opted to put my overflow of toilet paper rolls in this woven basket so that the extras are always within reach.
The wallpaper against the mirror, against the faux shiplap strips. Just too good!
The vanity light is also all sorts of good and these lightbulbs are amazing! So bright and white. I definitely will be incorporating these throughout the other bathrooms.
If you can’t tell by the millions of photos, I am honestly in love my One Room Challenge powder room reveal. With each and every project, I am amazed by how my much I am able to accomplish on my own, without any formal training but trial and error. I want to encourage anyone who is interested in tackling DIY Projects to just do start. Start small, but start.
