Spring 2020 One Room Challenge: Week One

Hey guys! So I am excited to announce that I will officially participating in the Spring 2020 One Room challenge! I legit went back and forth trying to see if this is something I wanted to participate in and most importantly commit to. Mainly because everything is in such an upheaval, that I did not know if I would be up to committing to this project for weeks, but in the end, I decided to challenge myself and its official…I’m in!

What is the One Room Challenge?

The One Room challenge™ will provide participants with a supportive, enthusiastic forum in which to share the process of transforming a room over eight weeks. The challenge is usually six weeks so I am happy for the extra time! The ORC is not a competition, but rather a celebration of creativity, inspiration, and original ideas. Now more than ever, I am happy to see that creativity and inspiration are still driving forces during this time and I welcome it as a happy distraction.

The One Room Challenge features 20 Interior designers known as the featured designers. I am participating as a guest participant. Each Wednesday, the featured designers share their weekly progress. On Thursdays the guest participants share their weekly process.

If you are new to my page, I’m Erin and I am an Event Manager by day, and a blogger/DIY’er by night.

My home was built in 1996 and we purchased it as a foreclosure in 2011. I share my home with my husband, son, and two dogs Theo and Buddy. Since living in our home, we’ve been making lots of updates to create a space that feels modern, functional, and perfect for our family. Say hello to my downstairs powder room. I made this space over many years ago and it was really cute.

and now its time for upgrade…

For it to be an area that most people access, I am actually shocked that it looks so sad. It’s the area on the other side of my kitchen, and it’s also the space that any guests would use. It needs lots of cosmetic updates and I am excited to get started. I love to show how even though spaces are small, they can still be mighty!
