This post and party is sponsored by Kroger Co. All opinions and actions are my own.
Sharing a meal with friends is one of my favorite things to do. Once a month, me and my friends like to get for a drink, dinner, or just do something fun. We even take annual trips together. Nothing beats friends. For the third year in a row, I threw my annual “Thankful for Girlfriends” simple & easy friendsgiving party at home. It means a lot that I am able to be able to put together an intimate event that shows them how much they each mean to me. This year, with the help of my local Kroger Supermarket, I was able to take it up a notch with the food and setup, so I decided to make it a seated dinner.
I love shopping my local Kroger for my weekly grocery needs, so purchasing my items from them for my simple & easy friendsgiving party at home was perfect!
Planning the menu
You may remember when I did a Summer Seafood Spread with my friends a few years ago, which was a big hit, so I decided to do it again as an alternative take on traditional Thanksgiving dinner. When I say we went a little seafood crazy, thats an understatement!
For the menu, I opted for a variety of seafood entree items, along with appetizers and side options, including a fresh green salad. I love shopping their produce department, which I did to grab all of the fresh ingredients for my salad.
For the seafood spread, I shopped Kroger’s Seafood Department. With so many choices, it was honestly hard narrowing down to only a few things. For this meal I grabbed lobster tails, shrimp, crab legs, and Salmon.
Kroger also has a vast wine section, so grabbing a few bottles of white wine were a must. Honestly, what is a seafood spread without white wine:)
For appetizers, we did our take on a Charcuterie Tray from scratch, with thinly sliced smoked turkey from Kroger’s deli department, a variety of cheese’s from Kroger’s Private Selection brand, and crackers.
We also had Shrimp Egg Rolls with Yum Yum sauce for dipping.
Setting the Table
For decor, I wanted to set a simple table using white plates and other decorative items that I already had such as some green faux garland, brass candlesticks, gold and white candle sticks, black napkins, tied with a jute piece of rope.
I added several fall bouquets from Kroger’s floral department. There were so many beautiful colors to pick from.
The Menu
On the menu we had a Mixed Green Salad, Lobster Mac n Cheese, Glazed Salmon, Shrimp, along with a boiled seafood combo which included Crab Legs, Corn, and Potatoes. I was so stuffed after, I couldn’t see straight, haha. The best part was that one of my very best friends, Ivoire, who is a Chef in Chicago flew in and prepared the entire meal. It came out better than I could have imagined!
As a gift, each of the wine glasses on the table were given to my friends as gifts and I provided a chalk marker pen for them to write their name on it as a keepsake.
I am so happy that I was able to partner with Kroger on my annual “Thankful for Girlfriends” party. We had a great time and danced the night away until the early morning hours. If you follow me on Instagram, then you may have seen my stories from that night.
Overall, I am thankful for having such amazing, loving and supporting friends. I am truly a blessed girl.
I want to thank Kroger Co. for helping to make my simple & easy Friendsgiving party at home a success.
Thanks so much for stopping by. Until next time!
