Hey and Happy Tuesday! Today, I’m joining a group of lovely ladies to share my very own love story, which I know is a bit different than what you normally see here.
As you know, I am married, and have been for 7 years. But you know how some people just know when they meet their partner, lol, our story was a bit different.
Back in 2010, I was out watching the Super Bowl with one of my best friends. Across the room, there was Julius. We made eye contact, smiled and turned around. A few minutes later her came over to chat with me, and I was so dismissive. I know. I was wrong. He asked for my number I didn’t give it to him:) I instead gave him my messenger contact info, lol.
Fast forward to a couple of days, he messaged me while I was at work and asked me out to dinner. I figured I had nothing to lose, so we scheduled a time to meet at Cheesecake Factory. I was almost an hour late y’all. I know…shame on me. I walked in and he was still waiting, with a smile. Once I saw his smile, that was it, and we were connected ever since.
We were engaged right at a year later.
We got married about nine months after we were engaged on September 24, 2011.
We welcomed our son Julius III 3.5 years later in January 2014.
I would say the first year was the hardest for both of us, because we were really getting adjusted to being one, instead of individuals. I like to describe marriage like taking off in an airplane. When you first take off (or get married), it may be a bit of turbulence, but once you get to a cruising altitude, its smooth sailing and your realize the little stuff is just that…little and not worth your time. We basically pick and choose our battles, listen and try to understand each others POV, even if we don’t agree.
What I love most about my husband is that he is smart, funny(sometimes), the best dad ever, he pushes me to be the very best, and truly see’s no limit in success. You really need someone like that if you have big dreams. He is also supportive and always positive.
My only piece of advice that I had to learn is to not sweat the small stuff. In the end, its not worth it.
I hope you enjoyed taking a peek into our love story. Be sure to check out the other ladies’ stories below.

lol. Thank you! I am glad he waited too!
They say patience is a virtue and he's proved that right.. you make beautiful couple and i'm happy love found you both… having a supportive life partner is so crucial because a wife can't fly on one wing.. it takes two and having that committed and togetherness is a winning combination. Many blessings to you both
He definitely proved this to be true! Thanks so much!!!
You guys are such a beautiful family Erin! And I so agree with your airplane analogy. And also not to sweat the small stuff, It's been 14 years and I still struggle with that one.
Thank you Linda! I struggle as well. All we can do is try! haha!
You guys go the cutest little dude out of that union! Wasn't it sweet that he was still smiling? This is a great love story. So sweet Erin.
