#LivePrettyKitchen: Over the Sink Lighting and a Faucet

Hey there. I am super excited to have not one, but two of my kitchen wish list items crossed off of my “gotta get” list!

Here is a breakdown of my changes.

• Replace countertop with granite
• Replace Backsplash
• New Faucet
• Remove random cabinet and replace with 2 floating shelves
• New light over table- replace with either a fixture or something
• Remove box florescent light and replace with recessed lights throughout kitchen
• Replace current flooring
• New over kitchen sink light
• Add under cabinet lighting

Last week I took the plunge and bought a new fancy faucet for the kitchen. One thing for sure is that I never knew how expensive faucets are! I mean, yeah. I searched and searched both online, at surplus stores, and big box stores for the best deals, and would you believe that The Home Depot came out cheaper with all of the options that I had been looking at. I had no luck at the surplus and rehab stores, and online just couldn’t beat the price of Home Depot.

We wanted a nice faucet that that we could use with multiple settings and added some style. I really love the look of gooseneck faucets and decided on this one.

Its the Moen Kaden Kitchen Faucet. It’s spot resistant and has an attached 3 function spray wand. I like the idea of having the spray wand attached instead of having a separate one.

We  also decided on a light over the kitchen sink. I purchased the 11inch West Elm Globe Pendant light.

and here is my mock up as to what it should look like over my sink.

Don’t forget that I will be removing the pendant over my kitchen table in hopes of finding something more suitable for that area.

Oh, and the granite company came by last week to draw my official template for my counters, so I am one step closer to getting it installed!

So that’s where I am so far. I am on the hunt for some tile so I will be back with an update on that next week. In a perfect world, I would run my dark flooring all the way through, but cannot fathom the idea of having dark cabinets and dark flooring without getting sick, so I think that I will stay away from that, lol.
