Office Plans So Far…

Hello and happy 2016! I have been trying to start my year off productive my ridding myself of unnecessary paperwork and just stuff in general. It always feels great to have this burst of energy in the New Year. Now I just hope to keep it going. I have been off of work for 2 weeks and the break was so needed. I did a bunch of nothing, but now I am back and in my routine. I hope that your Holiday season was great!

I have been working on my plans for my home office, which has a way to go, but it’s getting there. If  you follow me on Instagram, then you have seen peeks of my gallery wall, and the picture and frames that I scored from Goodwill for cheap. I started with the gallery wall because I that was the easiest place to start.

Navy blue has always been a favorite of mine because it so rich and classic. I always incorporate green in my home, so I felt that this room should be no exception.

Here is the breakdown of my plans:

 

1.The wall color will remain the same, which is Palladian Blue.
2.The gallery wall is complete and I love it!

3. I have a farmhouse style desk that I purchased from Goodwill a few months back. It will get a good sanding and stained in a gray brown color, so it will be more gray than the board above shows.

 

4. I am hoping to find the white storage unit, aka Ikea Expedit on Craigslist, but no luck so far. I am hoping that I don’t have to buy retail:( The Expedit is discontinued and is now called the Kallax at Ikea. I believe it’s pretty much the same. 

 

5. I have always loved this Morrocan shag rug. I think it would like nice in this room, but my husband thinks otherwise. I think I will go for it though.

 

6.Currently have a black file cabinet that I will spray paint white and change the handles to something like the ones above.

 

7. I currently own the green pillow, so I hoping to purchase a the navy and white one.

 

Although I have laid out my plans, sometimes as I begin building the room, things may change. I will be sure to keep you guys updated of course.

 

 

 

I also still need to address additional seat. I have a couple of chairs that I thought about making over and putting in there so we will see. I also think I need some sort of table or ottoman that could be used for seating as well, but still deciding. I will decide as the room develops.

 

 

 

But I am liking the plan so far.

Here you can see what the room looked like before. I was fortunate enough to sell pretty much everything in this room to go toward my purchases for the new space. I strongly suggest trying to sell the items from the current room, before making it over. It’s always nice to have a little cash to go toward your updates.
