Ahoy there, my good people! I won’t become long-winded, but I am so happy to reveal that we have finally finished our kitchen backsplash, and I can’t be more pleased. If you follow me on Instagram or checked out my previous posts, you may have been following along with my progress as it was happening. I still have to seal, and replace one electric faceplate, but other than that, it’s done!
Enough yapping, here are some photos.
This project has taught me a valuable lesson, I don’t EVER want to tackle anything like this again. It’s just too much work, and in between holding down a job, a husband, and two dogs, it became a bit overwhelming. All in all, I am glad it is something that we decided to do. It also has allowed me to tolerate my countertops even more, even though they are still not my fave. I plan to sit down and discuss the steps we took to complete this job, but its just so much, so I don’t know when.
Up next, I plan to purchase some under cabinet lighting, purchase a new kitchen rug, install recessed lights, and possibly lighting over the sink. We shall see.
To make sure you are up to date in our journey, here is our kitchen when we first moved in:
Here it is after we painted the cabinets and the original backsplash:
And here it is now:
So that’s about it for now. I have more projects that I am working on, so I will be posting about those soon. I hope that everyone is having a fantastic week! Until next time…

Wow Erin, it looks so good! I was just going to ask if you replaced your counter tops too. They look great up against your back splash. One project always leads to another. Good luck finishing up your kitchen.
Thank you Brandi! My next big project I will be sure to contract out. Its not enough time in the day!!! Glad we got it done though.
Hi Erin! The backsplash looks great! I love that you installed them as a diamond! Your kitchen is coming together wonderfully!!!
Thanks Shavonda! Even though its hard work, its worth all the effort in the end.
Love it! Y'all did a great job! Your kitchen is looking great!
Thanks Alaya, we are happy to see it coming along:)
The back splash looks good, I like that you installed it as a diamond shape 🙂
Thanks!! I figures the diamond is classic enough to stick around for a while;)
This turned out so beautifully Erin! Property value just went up 🙂
Thanks "Pennie!"
This looks great. I really love the way it turned out.. The chevron flower pot is super cute by the way.
