Toddler Boy Room Update-NOT THE FINAL REVEAL:)

Hello there! I know that I've taken quite a break. Blame it on my true lack of time management. but I am back with a room update for your guys. A couple of posts ago, I discussed the plans that I had for my sons big boy room makeover, and if you follow me on Instagram, then you know that I have been slowly completing these projects and I can finally see the finish line. Before I came in with the reveal, which is probably a couple of weeks away, I wanted give you a few sneak peeks and updates.

If you remember, this was my design plan:

Well, here are a few updates so far. I've snapped these photos at night, so excuse how dark they are:)

I also did a quick craftsman trim project around his window to add more character to the space.

So what do you guys think so far?  Like I said, I am hoping to finish the space totally, photograph, and do the final reveal soon. I will also have post dedicated to the wallpaper in his room, and how I applied it. It was super simple and the folks at Wallpops so graciously provided it to me!
Thanks so much for stopping by. Until next time.

A Toddler Boy Woodsy-Imaginative-Adventurous Room Makeover: The Plans

Hey friends and happy Tuesday! I hope that you are having a fantastic week so far! I am in full planning mode for the next project in our home, a big boy room update!  Back in late 2013, we completed our sons nursery.

Summer In Style Outdoor Edition: Simple Curb Appeal Updates Reveal with Pike Nurseries

Hey guys and happy Thursday! We are on day four of Summer in Style Outdoor Edition, hosted by my girl Chic Little House. If you haven't visited the other ladies on the blog tour, then be sure to check them out! All of their links are listed below. If you are visiting me from the blog hop, then welcome! I'm Erin and I like to think of myself as an average wife and mom,  that loves beautiful things, especially home décor. I blog about fixing up my 90's home, adding modern updates and custom appeal, on a budget that works for my family.

I believe that the outside of the home should reflect just as much beauty as the inside, and that curb appeal is super important! When people pull up to my home, I want them to know that our home is inviting and well cared for. So I was super excited to have the opportunity to work with Pike Nurseries on a quick spring refresh for our front yard and reveal it to you all during the Summer In Style Outdoor Edition.

On Tuesday, I gave you a sneak peek into my front yard before my spring updates. Now it's time to see what we've done! It was raining on and off while I shot these photos, but I was so determined to share with you all!

Late Spring Curb Appeal Progress/Updates

Hey guys and happy Tuesday! I don't know about you all, but the hotter it gets, the more I get concerned about the outdoor appearance of my home. This Spring, I wanted the outdoor area of our home to be the focus, because curb appeal is so important to me. So I wanted to pop in really quickly and talk about my progress on my curb appeal updates this Spring. As we near the end of Spring, I am really loving the way the front of my house is shaping up. Over the last couple of years, the perennials I planted had not been doing so well, as you can see here.

I Was a Speaker at Pinners Conference!

Hi guys! Long time no see. After finishing up the guest bathroom makeover, I literally had to take a mental break. I didn't even want to think about another project during April, but outside of projects, I had a pretty busy month of April. One of the highlights was being a speaker at this years Pinners Conference in Atlanta.

I taught a class on "Staining, Painting, and Styling: How to Update and Re-Love the Items in Your Home," and to my surprise, my class registration was sold out!

Guest Bathroom Makeover Reveal!

Yes! You read the title correctly. The guest bathroom is finally done! I am so excited and NERVOUS to share this completed project with you all. After a few months, and many late nights, I am happy to call this project completed:) So lets go back to where we started and then get straight to the reveal...

Guest Bathroom Update # 4: Final Bathroom Updates Before the Reveal

Hey guys and happy Thursday. Popping in for a quick bathroom update...I am finally finished laying the floor! My back and knees are definitely thanking me for it. Sheesh, it was rough but so worth it.
I've been shopping as well for accessories to add to the space once its all done. And I've picked up a few things so far.

Guest Bathroom Update #3: How To Install Backer Board and Mosaic Marble Floor Tile

Hey guys and happy Friday!! I am soooo close to being done with the bathroom that I can smell it. I wanted to drop back in with another update this week. I've officially started laying the floors!! Since you guys are following along with me, I am here to show you how we laid the floor down, using backer board as the underlayment.

Now as always during my process posts, I like to give you a disclaimer, this post is not pretty, but its honest. Laying backer board and tile is not fun, and my back and knees are still paying for it, but its so worth it.

If you've been following along, you know that the last couple of weeks, you know that I revealed what my actual makeover plans were, painted the vanity and wall, trimmed the window, and gave you a sneak peek of the mirror.

And you may even want to take a look back as to where this bathroom started...

Here is where we are now:

Guest Bathroom Update #2: Trim and Mirror Sneak Peek

Happy Tuesday! I wanted this post to go out so bad last week...so so bad. But I got a major bug and was sick last Tuesday all the way through Saturday. I am just getting back to feeling like myself, but I am still working through some weak points. Being sick sucks so bad. But anyway, I wanted to give you a quick guest bathroom update now that the trim is complete. I didn't get to do any major work last week due to sickness, but as promised I wanted you guys to have a weekly update.

Guest Bathroom Update # 1: A Painted Vanity and Wall Color

Hey good people and happy Thursday! Well I've good two major things crossed off of the list this week in regard to the guest bathroom makeover. Woo Hoo! The wall color has been updated, and the vanity is a whole lot more modern! This post is rather informal, so I shot things pretty much as they were at the time. I'm committed to showing more of real life and progress during a project, and not just the pretty after.

You may remember from reading my official guest bathroom plans, I mentioned painting the bathroom wall Sea Haze by Benjamin Moore and giving the vanity a dark makeover. Well, thus far I don't regret either of those decisions.

I'm sure you remember the before of the all white vanity....

Here it is after the first coat of paint. I painted it Totally Black by the Home Decorators Collection in at Home Depot in a Satin Finish.

A Timeless Gift for the One you Love with Jord Wood Watches

I remember being young, and focusing on the quantity of gifts that I received on Valentine's day rather than the quality. Of course that was many years ago, and my mindset on the holiday has certainly changed, thank goodness! Now, my focus is strictly on the quality and classic appeal, both as the gift and receiver.

A Guest Bathroom Update: Behind the Scenes Vlog # 1

Hey guys and happy Friday! Here is a behind the scenes video of some of the work that has been going into the guest bathroom makeover. It's always fun to check out the reality of what goes on behind the scenes of a project, before the camera comes out to photograph a perfectly styled space.

Well, here is our reality. Click the video below!

10 Days of Organizing: A Family Friendly Pantry Makeover

Happy Monday guys! We are on day 8 of the #10daysoforganizing. I hope that you've been following along because there are some great projects that have bee done over the last week. Today I'm here with a quick and inexpensive pantry makeover that I did for my family. With the new year, it never fails...my urge to organize and declutter becomes rampant, but with good intentions of course. I just like to make like easier. As you know, I work full time, and manage a household, so organization is my key to success. I understand that things won't be perfect, but striving to make daily things less stressful, like find an item in the pantry, is an easy fix. Before we move on, do you recognize that little masked head next to the flowers. Toddler Jules of course, he refused to move out of the picture, lol. Moving on...

Before my makeover, my pantry looked like this...

2017 Home & Personal Goals

Is it too late to say Happy New Year?! I know I'm super late posting my home and personal goals, but I always say better late than never. To be honest, I really had to figure out exactly what I wanted to accomplish this year with the blog, myself as Live Pretty on a Penny, and myself as a brand. So let's get into it!

Official Guest Bathroom Plans

Thank you so much for your kind words regarding my announcement of my Floor and Decor partnership. I am so excited to see this project come together and promise to share everything along the way. Someone asked in the comments on my last post will we be doing the work ourselves. The answer is YES!! Every single bit of it. There will be in-depth video content posted  on my YouTube channel as well, so make sure you are subscribed so that you don't miss it.

So let's flash back to a few days ago when I showed you our current guest bathroom space and my tour of Floor and Decor, and the floors that we selected as the starting point for this makeover.

Guest Bathroom Makeover: My Partnership with Floor & Decor

Happy 2017!! I cannot believe we are in a NEW YEAR! 2017!! Woohoo!!! I am so pumped for the New Year and what better way to kick things off than a fresh, new home project! I will be back later this week to talk about some home goals for this year, but this month I am super focused on completing my guest bathroom. I am also very excited to be partnering with Floor & Decor on the project. Floor & Decor is my absolute favorite spot for flooring! I've used several of their products in my home and they offer a wide variety of in-stock top-quality flooring at rock bottom prices.

I was fortunate enough to tour my local Kennesaw store, right outside of Atlanta and it was awesome to view the store in such a different element! Let me take you along for the ride. Stick around until the end and I will show you which floors I selected and a pretty hideous picture of my guest room as it stands.
